More than 1,800 million to improve the Andalusian countryside

Keys Rural Development Programme, which will promote economic diversification and quality of life of the municipalities are presented

The Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Rural Development, Elena Vipers, announced on August 1, 2014 the new Rural Development Programme (RDP) of Andalusia 2014-2020 will allocate more than 1,800 million euros to improve the economic sustainability , social and environmental dimensions of Andalusian countryside and makes a clear commitment to generational change. According to Elena Víboras it is the largest planning tool we have at our disposal to promote the competitiveness and sustainability of the agricultural sector and economic diversification and quality of life in our villages.

Total public expenditure on rural development in Andalusia for the next six years will be around 2,450 million euros. The program contains 15 measures to manage the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Rural Development, with a budget of more than 1,800 million euros. The rest, I managed other departments of the Government of Andalusia. However, this program comes with a smaller frame than the previous because Andalusia has narrowed the allocation of European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) budget. A reduction of this co-financing from the Ministry adds. Given this situation, Andalucía will make an effort to provide a PDR in line with industry needs, optimizing the European funds, maximizing investment and employment generation, always with a strong social component.
